From small projects to large-scale builds such as Brook House, MJS Group have a history of delivering quality results here at Winslade Park. Most recently, the team were assigned to create several new offices and a studio within the Winslade House building to cater for increased demand. One project saw three first floor offices constructed in record time, dry-lined, plastered, painted, and finished to a high standard within just weeks of instruction. Meanwhile, thanks to MJS Group, Lyre Studiowere able to open the doors to their newly refurbished hair and beauty studio on the ground floor in November 2023.
MJS GROUP TO HELP DELIVER BROOK HOUSE IN 2024
Brook House, built in 1970’s, is the next stage of the Winslade Park development and is now under refurbishment. MJS Group have been enlisted to help us get this project across the line.
The scope of work being undertaken by MJS Group falls under three areas:
Carpentry – this has involved the careful rehanging of the original doors, which have been adapted to incorporate a keyless entry system. Skirting boards will also be replaced throughout, bringing the building up to date and to specification.
Dry-lining and plastering – the top floor of Brook House has had a brand-new ceiling installed. This will serve to improve the building’s energy efficiency. The team have also installed sound-proof partition walling in order to create a number of comfortable and private serviced office spaces. Most importantly, MJS Group will also bring the building up to spec to comply with today’s safety standards, including installing enhanced fireproofing where required.
Painting and decorating – the team will also be painting and decorating the whole building from top to bottom in modern colour scheme. Exterior windows have already been refreshed with a new coat of paint.
A WORD FROM MJS GROUP’S MANAGING DIRECTOR LOUIS GREENAWAY
When asked what the highlights of the Brook House project have been, Louis said:
“Having elements of both refurbishment and new-build has provided us with unique challenges, it has given us an opportunity to have our time-served workforce implement new skills and allowed our apprentices to see beyond new build housing projects, which is very important for their learning and development.”
A UNIQUE REFURBISHMENT PROJECT FOR MJS GROUP
MJS Group often work on large-scale new build developments, meaning a broadly distributed work force. Uniquely, the Brook House project has enabled MJS Group to bring all their trades together under one roof – incorporating dry-lining, carpentry, and decorating services.
“Not only does this type of project allow for more streamline processes, but it also gets the team working together and creates better synergy.”

The work we undertook included bespoke cabinetry, working platform for hair wash station, mastic and sealant works, installation of glass panels, purpose made mirror mounts and bespoke solid oak shelves, amongst our ‘usual offering’ of drylining, decorating and carpentry works’.
Congratulations to Lyre Studio and Winslade Park.
