New Site Start with McCarthy & Stone

This week sees us start with new decorating client McCarthy & Stone. The site is in a prime location for our decorators, at Pinhoe in Exeter. A good run of work is provided for our local labour on this retirement community.

This is an exciting development of 39 1 and 2 bedroom retirement apartments for the over 60s located in the sought-after area of Pinhoe on the outskirts of Exeter. Chiefs Book Semi Final Spot

Exeter Chiefs won the second round of the South West Derby beating Gloucester comfortably this weekend. Strong performances across the board, highlighted by returnee Jack Nowell with a brace of tries. An accurate boot from the inform Joe Simmonds and a try from his brother Sam was enough to put Gloucester back on the bus wondering how they let Exeter slip through the net so many times. This week’s game was enjoyed by Gloucester locals and Electrical friends Clarkson Evans, Sidmouth RFC, Michele Campagnaro, Shaun Malton, Staff and Directors of MJ Stevens.

Chiefs Win Anglo Welsh Cup

The Anglo Welsh Cup heads it way back to Devon, safe on the Chief’s Bus. A tournament support by MJ Stevens Staff, Customers, Suppliers and Friends saw the season’s efforts pay dividends with a win over South West rivals Bath at the home of another South West team, Gloucester. A game which saw youngster Jack Innard score a brace of tries and the ever reliable boot of Joe Simmonds saw Exeter ease pass a wondering Bath pack. The game was watched by our Managing Director Louis Greenaway, pictured below, with Captain and Corporate Sales Manager Kai Hortsmann and avid Chiefs supporter Tom Reed.

Chiefs Make 4th Straight Final

On Sunday the boys in pink made the final of the Anglo Welsh cup, captained by Dave Dennis. Winning the semi final in a tight frantic game. For the second weekend in a row young Joe Simmonds put in a man of the match performance with a cool head and sharp kicking skills held back visiting Newcastle on Mothering Sunday. This weekend’s game was watched by our Directors and material suppliers. End score was 20-17.

Drylining Team Win New Linden Site

Our drylining division have been successful in winning a new site for Linden Homes – Blackawton, nr Totness. A high-end development of larger houses will be a great addition to our order book and continued work for our labour force.

Chiefs Overhaul Sarries

A game delayed by the snow, showed now signs of disappointed, waiting chief’s fan from Saturday. When the game finally got underway on Sunday, it proved to be one of the best encounters of the season. A re-run of last year’s semi final at Sandy Park saw local favourite Phil Dollman cross the line and with the Chiefs a nudge ahead at half time 14-12, more was to come from the home team. Simmond’s boot was on fine form and saw the game end up 24-12. This week’s game was enjoyed by MJS staff, Persimmon South West, Taylor Wimpey Exeter, Halsall and local plumbers Barkwell’s Plumbing and Heating.
