3rd Generation Joins MJS Group
1st September marked a true occasion at MJS Group. Oscar joined our ranks as an apprentice dryliner, working under the stewardship of his dad, Ryan. This is not the first time a son, daughter or family member has linked up at work here but it is the first time a THIRD generation has worked for the company. Tony, former senior contracts manger worked for the business for over 25 years, many of you will remember him. Both his sons have spent time on the tools, Ryan continuing with us to this day and Liam carving out a championship winning career in swimming.
We are delighted to have Oscar on board with us and see him, and our other apprentices, flourish in the coming years.

This month saw the completions of the office refurbishment, combining two former individual offices into one lager open plan first floor whilst keeping the group floor separate with rest areas and multiple offices. It was nice to be working on this small project for our neighbours and fellow site contractors.

Work Continues at Exeter City FC
June sees the completion of the biggest part of the refurbishment works at St James’ Park, home of Exeter City FC. This month we have completed the main corporate room at the club where they hold the match day dining experiences for sponsors and VIP guests. This room received the new corporate colour scheme of Grey and White with the ECFC Red highlighted in the middle band around the room.
This new colour scheme has given the club a boost in visual standing and brought a professional and clean look the whole building. The room is also used for companies to undertake workshop days, business meetings and seminars. We are very much looking forward to seeing the rest of the building coming together.

Site Award Won at Wain Homes
May sees us receive the Contractor of the Month Award on our Wain Homes site, Molbrook in South Molton. Well done to the decorating team on site and Wiktor the contracts manager.

Refurbishment work at Exeter City FC
We have completed phase 1 of our mammoth project with Exeter City Football Club redecorating the infamous St James Park in the heart of our home city. The work lead by David Waterfield and his team of experienced decorators last week finished in time for the game at the weekend which finished 1-1 with Northampton Town.
The partnership put together by Louis Greenaway & Tom Wenborn was a vision for the future of the club and it’s corporate identity. Colourfully helped by Crown Paints and Adam Crispin put together this scheme with ourselves.
This first room is for VIPs, player’s family and friends. We are delighted with the outcome and look forward to the rest of the project. Stay tuned for more updates.

MJS Group Company Seminar
This week we held our annual company seminar at Future Skills Centre Exeter. Attended by over 60 staff, sub contractors, partners and suppliers. Louis Greenaway opened with the company update on our 70+ live contracts, future site starts, staff structure and 2025 projections.
Peter Applegate then took to the stage to give an overview on best practices, our site audit procedure, apprentice programme and upskilling along side Wayne Beaufoy at F P Herting & Son Plc and Greenlight Safety & Training with SSG Training and Consultancy Ltd providing an update on our Health & Safety policy and a H&S quick-quiz.
A member of each division then delivered a ‘hot topics’ segment, these were presented by David Waterfield, Ian Macdonald and Steve Clewer. Finally the morning was rounded off by Elliott Jeffery highlighting some customer trends, practices and key points.
Informing our operatives and staff of the vision for the company and where we are going is important and key to us progressing and raising the standards each week. Thank you to everyone that came and also to those that contributed to make the day a huge success.
